Applications for Wisconsin FFA Chapter Grants Now Available
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 04/24/2017

FFA chapters in Wisconsin have the opportunity to apply for grant money to help with community service projects or Food for America programming. The funding is being made available through the Wisconsin FFA Foundation, which is encouraging local clubs to develop individual and cooperative activities to enhance their communities.

Community Service grants are being funded through the Bethany L. Rieth Memorial Fund, which was established after Rieth, a former state FFA officer, passed away in a skiing accident last year. These annual grants given in Bethany's name will be awarded to chapters that want to complete meaningful service projects that make a difference in their communities.

The Food for America Grant is funded by Organic Valley/CROPP Cooperative, Inc. Examples of such projects could include hosting events done in cooperation with another organization to promote healthy foods or eating, or establishing a community garden.

Meanwhile, the FFA Foundation and Syngenta also have partnered for a second year to provide resources for gardens to six FFA chapters

To be eligible for a grant, FFA chapters must be in good standing with the Wisconsin FFA and submit a completed application.
