PDPW Announces Speakers for Weekly Dairy Signal
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 05/16/2022

The Professional Dairy Producers of Wisconsin says another group of speakers are set to take part in the online Dairy Signal program this week.

On Tuesday, Leslie Olivares of the Western Center for Agricultural Health and Safety at the University of California, Davis, will cover strategies for working and playing safely in the heat, including sun-protection tips and how to prevent and identify heat stress and heat stroke.

Pittsville Fire Chief Gerald Minor will be Wednesday presenter. He will share important tips to prevent common fire hazards and explain how to respond when equipment or tractors overheat or when a fire starts in a barn.

And on Thursday, Dr. Paul Fricke, PhD, with the University of Wisconsin-Madison will provide a closer look into how heat stress impacts dairy cow reproduction, including longer breed-back time, incidence of twins and more.

All episodes are free and available to the public, accessible from www.pdpw.org. They are streamed live at 12:00 noon or available on demand for later playback.
