Ag Sec. Perdue to Hold Tele-Town Hall Meeting with FFA Students
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 04/28/2017
Local FFA members in western Wisconsin will have an opportunity to ask the nation's new agriculture secretary questions during a virtual town hall meeting next week. Memorial High School in Eau Claire will be among the sites where students across the
country can interact with Sonny Perdue through Google Hangouts on May 1.
Jessica Mancel of USDA Rural Development in Stevens Point told Wisconsin Ag Connection that the online session will take place for one hour, starting at 1:00 p.m.
Perdue, who is a former FFA member himself, was confirmed as President Trump's farm chief earlier this week.
He also held a roundtable meeting with over a dozen farmers from across the country on Tuesday, where they discussed topics like trade, job growth and dealing with a challenging farm economy.
The secretary will chair a task force on rural prosperity created by an Executive Order signed by the president.
