Motorist in Van vs. Tractor Crash Admits to Using Drugs

The driver of a minivan that crashed into a farm tractor on U.S. Highway 18/151 on Wednesday afternoon told authorities that he was using heroin shortly before the accident.
According to the Dane County Sheriff's Department, Jason Saleska of Evansville was traveling east when he struck the tractor driven by Robert Ray from Verona. A female passenger in Saleska's vehicle was unresponsive when crews arrived and was airlifted
to a Madison hospital.
An accident report stated that Saleska was also injured and taken by ambulance to receive medical attention. Ray only had a minor cut to his hand and was treated at the scene.
Deputies found drug paraphernalia inside the minivan and said Saleska admitted to using heroin prior to the incident.
The mishap happened just before 4:30 p.m. near Spring Rose Road in the town of Verona.
