Culver's Commits Major Financial Support for WAEC
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 04/28/2017

Another major donor has come forward to support the proposed Wisconsin Agricultural Education Center in Manitowoc County. The Sauk City-based Culver's restaurant chain announced it will invest $250,000 toward the development of the state-of-the-art facility.

"The Wisconsin Agricultural Education Center creates a unique opportunity for Culver's to continue spreading the word of appreciation for agriculture among our team members, those who work in Culver's restaurants, and our guests," said Culver's CEO Joseph Koss. "We are so proud to partner with this new agricultural education asset in our home state of Wisconsin."

Culver's and WAEC will collaborate to develop an education exhibit featuring the people of agriculture, which will also give visitors the opportunity to express their own thanks to farmers.

WAEC Education Director Melissa Bender says the latest gift brings the project's total fundraising level to 90-percent of its total goal of $13 million.

After a ribbon cutting was held last year, construction of the center halted over the winter months and is scheduled to resume in the coming weeks.

Once the WAEC opens in early 2018, it will provide visitors with the opportunity to connect to the industry by better understanding where their food comes from.
