Wisconsin Cherry Board Election Underway
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 05/17/2022

Wisconsin tart cherry growers have until June 15 to vote for two new members of the Wisconsin Cherry Board.

Chris Lautenbach of Fish Creek and Jim Seaquist from Ellison Bay were the only producers nominated by the April 1 deadline.

The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture will mail ballots to eligible growers during the week of May 15. Producers who have not received a ballot by May 20 can request one by calling the DATCP Market Orders Program Department at 608-224-5116.

Ballots must be emailed or postmarked by June 15 and the elected producers will serve three-year terms beginning July 1.

The Wisconsin Cherry Board is composed of five at-large members that are responsible for administering Wisconsin's Cherry Marketing Order. The group secures and distributes funding for research, education, and promotion of Wisconsin-grown cherries.
