State Commodity Prices Mixed in March

The average corn price received by Wisconsin farmers during March was $3.42 per bushel, according to the latest USDA Agricultural Prices report. That was up six-cents from the February price, but a penny lower than March 2016.

Soybeans average $9.75 per bushel, about a dime less than the previous month, but $1.22 above last year.

The oat price was $2.43 per bushel, 21-cents lower than February, but 81-cent more than March 2016.

And hay prices in Wisconsin averaged $85.00 per ton in March, down $2.00 for the month, but unchanged for the year. Alfalfa went for $91.00 per ton, $1.00 lower than both February and the previous March. The other hay price averaged $66.00, down $1.00 from February, but $8.00 above the March 2016 price.
