Equity's 'Good Way to Grow' Program Still Supporting FFA, 4-H
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 05/01/2014
A one-year program organized by the Equity Cooperative Livestock Sales Association that contributes 10-cents for every animal marketed through the company's auction centers for youth development projects is now entering its final quarter. The co-op announced this week that its 'Good Way To Grow'
program raised over $54,500 for the Wisconsin and Iowa 4-H and FFA Foundations.
The initiative began July 1 of last year and will run for 12 months.
"The level of support for this program has been simply amazing and the results have allowed us to continue our financial assistance for two great youth organizations that promote leadership for those interested in agriculture," said Equity CEO Chuck Adami. "It is so satisfying to give back to the many rural
communities that have contributed so much to our growth."
Adami says the Wisconsin 4-H Foundation opted to receive their contributions quarterly, while the Wisconsin FFA Foundation and the Iowa 4-H and FFA Foundations agreed to each receive one check at the end of the program.
The Baraboo-based Equity Co-op operates 12 auction markets and services producers in Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota and South Dakota.
