Only One Contested Seat for WMMB Board
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 05/04/2015

The make up of the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board will not look much different after this year's district director elections are complete. This year, seven of the eight incumbents in eligible districts have been renominated for their positions, with only one district having a face-off between two new comers in a mail-in ballot election.

Election coordinators say all eligible voters mush return their ballots to the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture by May 23.

This year's nominees include:

** District 2 - Incumbent Connie Seefeldt of Coleman is running unopposed. She is currently serving as chairperson of the board.

** District 5 - Incumbent Kay Zwald from Hammond is running unopposed.

** District 8 - Incumbent Steve Sternweis from Marshfield is running unopposed.

** District 11 - Kevin Fritz of Oshkosh and Chris Vanden Elzen from Seymour are seeking to replace outgoing board member Robert Letter.

** District 14 - Incumbent Patricia Kling of Taylor is running unopposed.

** District 17 - Incumbent Rosalie Geiger from Reedsville is running unopposed.

** District 20 - Incumbent Sharon Laubscher of Wonewoc is running unopposed.

** District 23 - Incumbent Jay Staffacher from Darlington is running unopposed.

WMMB consists of 25 board members who supervise WMMB policies and procedures, and approve WMMB's long-range business plan and annual budget. As directors, the winning nominees will supervise WMMB's business affairs, formulate and set WMMB policies, and serve on one of three WMMB committees.
