State Ag Students Earn 'Clean Air' Scholarships
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 05/05/2015

The American Lung Association in Wisconsin has announced the winners of its 2015 Clean Air Choice college scholarship program. Three students have been awarded $2,000 each for completing the 'Burma Shave' type advertising campaign, where they had to replicate the 4 or 5 line rhyme/rhythm pattern of the iconic road signs to promote E85 and its benefits.

The winning recipients included Kate Griswold enrolled in the College of Agriculture & Life Sciences at UW-Madison; Brittany Iverson from the College Of Business, Industry, Life Science and Agriculture at UW-Platteville; and Zachary Markhardt in the College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences at UW-River Falls.

"These scholarships support Wisconsin students who work hard while pursuing their career goals. They each took the time to submit well thought out and creative applications which include marketing campaigns promoting E85 as a clean, homegrown, alternative fuel." says Danielle Clark, Coordinator of the Clean Fuels & Vehicle Technologies program for the American Lung Association in Wisconsin.

The Clean Air Choice Scholarship is supported by the American Lung Association in Wisconsin Clean Air Choice program, the Wisconsin Corn Growers Association and the Wisconsin Corn Promotion Board.
