Del Monte Issues Food Recall in Wisconsin, Minnesota
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 05/22/2019

A group of state agencies in Wisconsin are investigating a multi-state outbreak of salmonellosis linked to consumption of Del Monte vegetable trays.

According to news reports, three Wisconsin residents and one in Minnesota consumed Del Monte vegetable trays purchased from Kwik Trip prior to becoming ill between mid- to late-April. Health officials say it's possible additional illnesses will be reported due to the normal delay of illness reports within public health agencies.

The Del Monte vegetable trays associated with the investigation contain broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, and dill dip. They also have been distributed to other retailers in Wisconsin.

Salmonellosis is caused by consuming food or water contaminated with Salmonella bacteria, or by direct or indirect contact with fecal matter from infected people or animals. Symptoms include diarrhea, abdominal pains, fever, and vomiting that lasts for several days.
