UW-Madison CALS Expands FSA Borrower Training Agreement

The Wisconsin Farm Service Agency Farm Loan Program announced that it has expanded its Management Training Agreement with the University of Wisconsin Madison College of Agriculture & Life Sciences to now include the Farm and Industry Short Course.
State FSA Director Brad Pfaff says FSA is looking forward to working with CALS to provide borrowers with financial and production management education.
The Short Course program was founded in 1885 and includes the Wisconsin School for Beginning Dairy and Livestock Farmers. The following four specialty certificates offered by the Farm and Industry Short Course will meet FSA's Management Training requirements: Crop and Soil Management, Dairy Farm
Management, Meat Animals, and Pasture Based Dairy and Livestock.
The goal of the training program is to improve the borrower's understanding of production and financial management techniques as well as enable borrower s to better analyze and manage their farming operations.
