GROWMARK Names 2014 Summer Interns
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 05/20/2014

Over 50 college students are exploring career opportunities as GROWMARK summer interns this year. The participants will be working at FS cooperatives in Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa and Ontario.

From the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, this year's interns include Drew Gilmer, Watertown, studying in animal sciences and working for Frontier-Servco FS; James Jacques, Elkhorn, studying soil and crop science and working for Conserv FS, Inc.; and Hallie Metcalf, Janesville, studying agribusiness and working for Frontier-Servco FS.

Serving as an intern from the UW-River Falls is Danielle Dykes, Almond, studying agribusiness and agronomy. She will be working for Frontier-Servco FS.

The interns will be exposed to accounting, marketing, communications, and product and service-related activities. The group attended an orientation program at the GROWMARK corporate office in May, and will reconvene in June for an agribusiness tour. Each intern will complete a special project and deliver a presentation on that project in August.

The GROWMARK intern program began in 1959 with three interns. Since then, nearly 900 students have been involved in the program.
