WRDN Radio Hosting Farm Crisis Town Hall on May 29
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 05/24/2019
A western Wisconsin farm broadcaster is inviting agricultural stakeholders to come together and have an honest conversation about how the current farm crisis is effecting people both personally and professionally. Brian Winnekins of WRDN Radio is hosting the town hall meeting on May 29 at Weiss Family Farms near Durand.
"This is not to point fingers at what caused it, but how it is affecting farmers and their families and talk about resources available for farmers," Winnekins told Wisconsin Ag Connection. "The goal is to prevent farmer suicide. We will be having members
of the Wisconsin Farm Center, National Farm Medicine Center and Pepin County Health and Human Services there along with legislators and their aids so they can at least hear from the farmers themselves on how these issues are affecting them."
The forum will be held from 10:00 a.m. to noon. The public is invited to attend, but farmers and others in the agricultural community are encouraged to take part and share their stories.
