PDPW to Hold Hispanic Milking Science Workshops
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 05/23/2016

Dairy farmers who hire Hispanic labor on their operations may want to consider sending some of their employees to a milking science workshop offered this summer by the Professional Dairy Producers of Wisconsin. The group is holding three identical training sessions in June, which will be taught exclusively in Spanish.

Led by Oscar Duarte, DVM, and Robert Leder, DVM, the workshops will provide the training to protect your business and milk quality while ensuring worker safety. Dr. Duarte will address milking techniques, correct use of equipment and tools during milking, procedures to lessen incidences of mastitis and safety for workers and cows.

The program will also focus on handling techniques for the down cow.

Workshop dates are:

** June 9: Goodhue, Minnesota

** June 16: Malone

** June 23: Richland Center

For more information on any of the various events being held for Hispanic workers, call 800-947-7379 or go to: www.pdpw.org.
