Second Annual Alpaca Shearing Day is June 16
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 05/18/2012
Sandy Ridge Farm will host its second annual Spring Shearing Day for alpacas next month. The event will be held June 16 and is free to the public.
Attendees will be narrated through the steps of shearing an alpaca. Sandy Ridge Farm and Deb Skubal will organize an Alpaca to Apparel Project, where the first fleece of the day will be processed into a prize that could be worn home.
While watching hand designers process the fleece, the public can try their
hand at carding, spinning, and weaving.
Kids of all ages can also walk an alpaca for two dollars while navigating over obstacles and through beautiful gardens.
The event is cosponsored with KeLe Alpacas.
