Wisconsin Farms Among Holstein Association's Top BAA Herds
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 01/16/2018

Two Wisconsin dairy operations have made the list of the Holstein Association USA's top Holstein Breed Age Average herds for 2017 classifications. Milk Source LLC of Kaukauna and Michael & Julie Duckett from Duckett Holsteins in Rudolph were among the top five herds in the nation for BBA.

BAA value provides a way to compare the score of a herd average to the average of the breed, taking into account age of the animal and stage of lactation. Herds participating in the Classic or Standard options of the Holstein Classification program receive an overall BAA for the herd.

The top herd in the nation for BAA went to Matthew Mitchell of Tennessee. Other top herds were in New York and Vermont.
