DBMMC Announces 2016 Scholarship Winners

The Dairy Business Milk Marketing Cooperative has recently awarded $1,000 scholarships to two college students.

Brooke Moore is a senior at Black Hawk High School in South Wayne. She is planning to attend the University of Wisconsin-Madison to major in food or animal science or kinesiology. She has been active in sports, forensics, drama, 4-H, and FFA. She is also the Black Hawk Class of 2016 Valedictorian.

And Emily Annexstad is graduating from St. Peter High School in St. Peter, Minnesota, with plans to attend the University of Minnesota Twin Cities this fall. She has been active in 4-H, FFA, soccer, band, choir, Minnesota Junior Holstein Association, and is currently serving as the Nicollet County Dairy Princess. She plans to be involved in agriculture related activities while in college.

This is the third year DBMMC established the scholarship program to help finance higher education for the children of its members. Students competing for the scholarships were judged on academic achievement, leadership and participation in school and community activities, academic honors, goals and aspirations, recommendations and work experience.

DBMMC is a bargaining cooperative that verifies milk components and represents dairy producers on legislative issues.
