Sheboygan River Progressive Farmers Field Day Slated
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 05/31/2018
Nearly 100 people from different facets of the agricultural community are expected to attend the Sheboygan River Progressive Farmers' annual field day next month. The event will showcase how farming groups share resources and best practices in order to
implement sustainability practices without sacrificing productivity and profitability.
The program will be held June 13 at Second Look Holsteins near Eden. Organizers say they hope to create an environment for farmers to share information and network with one another during a time when milk and other commodity prices are at low levels.
Through the field day event, SRPF will highlight cost sharing programs, resources and best practices so interested farmers can learn how to offset some of the risk in implementing new conservation initiatives.
The Sheboygan River basin extends into portions of Sheboygan, Fond du Lac, Manitowoc, Ozaukee and Calumet counties and includes the Sheboygan River, Mullet River, Onion River, Black River and Pigeon River as well as Sauk and Sucker Creeks.
