Arneson Re-Appointed to Environmental Education Board
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 06/03/2009

Darlene Arneson of Stoughton has been re-appointed to the Wisconsin Environmental Education Board, based at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

The WEEB was created by the state legislature in 1990 to identify and establish priorities for environmental education in Wisconsin in consultation with the UW-Extension, Wisconsin Center for Environmental Education, teacher training institutions, conservation and environmental groups, youth organizations, and nature and environmental centers. The board is also charged with making grants for environmental education programs and seeking private funds in support of the grants program.

WEEB is made up for representatives from education, industry, political and environmental sectors. Arneson has been serving on the panel since 2007.

Darlene is the director of the Wisconsin Farm Bureau Foundation and is the group's Ag in the Classroom coordinator. She is a 1985 graduate of UW-Madison with a degree in agricultural education, and was the agriculture instructor at Cashton and Cambridge High Schools from 1986-1991. She is also a past president of the Dane County Farm Bureau and Wisconsin FFA Alumni State Council.
