Turpin Appointed to Serve on AFBF's Young Farmers Committee
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 01/20/2020

Wisconsin will have some representation on the American Farm Bureau Federation's Young Farmers & Ranchers Committee. Sally Turpin from Juneau County has been appointed to a two-year term on the panel, starting in March.

"I have had many great experiences through Farm Bureau that have allowed me to learn more about the legislative process, advocate for agriculture and meet new friends while traveling," said Turpin. "I'm excited to build on my Farm Bureau involvement."

Turpin grew up on her family's dairy farm, where they now raise beef cattle. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she double majored in agronomy and animal science, she worked as an agronomist for several years and then as a dairy consultant for the past six years. Sally now serves as an energy services representative for WPPI Energy.

The YF&R Committee is made up of 16 members who help plan a national leadership conference and the competitive events that occur at the AFBF Annual Meeting for young Farm Bureau members.

Turpin is the first Wisconsin member to be appointed to the national committee since Derek and Charisse Orth of Grant County served from 2017 to 2019.
