Wisconsin Students Earn National Dairy Shrine Scholarships

Many local students were chosen to receive scholarship money from the National Dairy Shine.
Elizabeth Endres, Waunakee, has been selected as the recipient of the $3,000 Kildee Undergraduate Studies Scholarship. She attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison and will be entering the UW School of Veterinary Medicine to become a veterinarian.
Earning $1,000 awards under the NDS Senior Student Recognition program are Crystal Siemers-Peterman, Cleveland, a graduate from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Agricultural & Food Business Management; Sydney Endres, Lodi, a Dairy
Science and Life Sciences Communication double major at UW-Madison; and Ethan Dado, Amery, a double major in Animal Science & Agricultural Education at the U of M.
A $1,500 DMI Milk & Dairy Products scholarship will be given to Brooke Roberts, Whitelaw, who attends the U of M and is majoring in Agricultural Communications & Marketing; and Ciera Ballmer, Janesville, attending UW-Madison for Dairy Science.
Laura Jensen, Comstock, has been awarded the top Merton Sowerby Junior Merit Scholarship of $1,500. She is an Animal Science major at the U of M.
The Mike Lancaster Sophomore Merit Scholarships award of $1,500 will be presented to Trent Dado, Amery, an Animal Science major at the U of M.
Bailey Larson, Alma Center, majoring in Dairy Science at the UW-Madison; and Carley Krull, Lake Mills, majoring in Dairy Science at Iowa State University, will earn $1,000 from the Maurice Core Scholarship fund.
All of the students will be recognized during the annual National Dairy Shrine Awards Banquet in Madison later this fall.
