Final PQA Plus Advisor Training to be Held Friday
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 06/18/2019
Individuals who are interested in being a Pork Quality Assurance Plus trainer, or who need to be re-certified for the program, can participate in one one last training session being held this year.
The National Pork Board has rolled out a revised PQA Plus training this year, which requires all advisors to be re-certified. Coordinators say the components of the PQA Plus program have changed significantly from the last version and the new training is
tailored to new certifications and a separate curriculum for those getting re-certified.
To become a PQA Plus advisor, a person needs to be a veterinarian, extension agent, or agriculture educator with a DVM, BS in Animal Science, or equivalent degree plus two years of relevant swine experience. Candidates must attend a training and pass an
exam to become a certified advisor. Advisor certification is good for three years.
The final session session of the season will be held June 21 at the Eau Claire Co. Extension Office in Altoona.
There will be no charge for this training and lunch will be provided with support from the National Pork Board and Wisconsin Pork Association.
To register for the event, call 715-613-1603.
