Farmers of Mill Creek Holding Conservation Field Day
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 06/17/2016
The Farmers of Mill Creek Watershed Council is organizing a field day next week for the public to learn more about soil and water conservation practices in the Mill Creek watershed. The event takes place June 25 at Eron's Event Barn near Stevens Point.
An educational session will discuss cover crops and cover cropping techniques that work with your cropping systems. There will also be a heritage tractors and equipment display, in which the equipment will be used to prepare the soil and plant soil
conservation buffer strips along waterways leading to the Mill Creek.
Lunch will be served at noon and there will also be live music by the West of the River Band in the evening hours.
The council is made up of a group of farmers in the Mill Creek watershed who have come together because we care about the soil, water and farmers.
