Oftedahl Among Select Sires 2018 Student Interns

Select Sires Inc. has announced the selection of 13 students into its 2018 summer internship program.

From Wisconsin, Samantha Oftedahl was chosen to join the Select Sires team in Westby as the laboratory intern. A native of Westby, Oftedahl is currently attending the University of Wisconsin-Platteville majoring in agribusiness.

This summer, Samantha will assist with daily operations of the lab, initial processing of semen, data entry and extending product life.

"Both practical work experience within the agricultural industry and networking are extremely important to help college students prepare for full-time employment beyond graduation," says Select Sires CEO David Thorbahn. "That's why Select Sires offers hands-on internship opportunities to work with trained professionals each year. This program helps to expand knowledge of the industry, while allowing interns to contribute to the day-to-day operation of the Select Sires federation."

Based in Plain City, Ohio, Select Sires is North America's largest A.I. organization and is comprised of nine farmer-owned and -controlled cooperatives.
