Crop Acreage Reports Due to FSA Office by Next Week
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 07/08/2020

The director of Wisconsin's Farm Service Agency is reminding producers to complete crop acreage reports by the applicable deadline for their county. Sandy Chalmers says due to the COVID-19 pandemic, FSA is waiving the late file fee for producers who file their acreage reports within 30 days of the deadline.

"Acreage reporting dates vary by crop and by county," Chalmers said. "To make sure you're eligible for many USDA programs, you need to file an accurate crop acreage report. Our FSA staff is standing by to help you."

In Wisconsin, all spring-seeded crops; including dry edible beans, dark and light red kidney beans, perennial forage, pasture, rangeland, forage seeding, and all CRP acreage must be reported by July 15. Processing snap beans, cabbage, and industrial hemp can be filed through August 17.

Chalmers adds that FSA county offices in Wisconsin will provide maps to producers along with instructions for completing and returning the maps through either mail, email or through commercially available free and secure online tools such as Box for file sharing and OneSpan for eSignature solutions. After planting is complete, producers must return the signed form certifying their acreage report to the FSA office through mail, email or the Box and OneSpan tools by July 15.
