Wisconsin Students Earn National Dairy Shrine Scholarships

Several local students were chosen to receive scholarship money from the National Dairy Shine.

Jordan Haelfrisch of Reedsville will earn a $1,000 NDS/Dairy Management Inc. Student Recognition Award. Haelfrisch is a Agriculture and Applied Economics major at University of Wisconsin-Madison. This scholarship encourage students to pursue careers in dairy product or milk marketing.

A McCullough Scholarship will be given to Sydney Endres from Lodi. That award is presented to students entering their freshmen year of college and plan to major in dairy/animal science or agricultural journalism with a dairy emphasis. She will receive a $1,000 scholarship to be used towards her pursuit of a Life Sciences Communication / Dairy Science degree at the UW-Madison.

And Bethany Dado of Amery, also attending UW-Madison, has won a $1,000 Maurice Core Scholarship. Given in honor of Core, the long-time Executive Secretary of the American Jersey Cattle Association, and more recently, the Executive Director of the National Dairy Shrine, the scholarship is given to freshman status students working toward a degree in dairy or animal science related majors.

All of the students will be recognized during the annual National Dairy Shrine Awards Banquet in Madison later this fall.
