Wisconsin Farmers Union Planning Farm & Rural Lobby Day
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 01/18/2018
Registration is now open for the annual Farm and Rural Lobby Day, hosted by Wisconsin Farmers Union in Madison on February 21. Organizers say topics will include improving rural high-speed Internet access, protecting groundwater, and the role of the
Farm Center in helping farm families.
"Decisions that are made at the Capitol have a tremendous impact on our lives in rural Wisconsin," said WFU President Darin Von Ruden. "Farm and Rural Lobby Day is a chance to work together to strengthen the voices of family farmers and our rural
communities."
The day's events begin with a 10:30 a.m. registration and 11:00 a.m. issues briefings at Bethel Lutheran Church, near the capitol square. Speakers will provide background information on pending legislation that is of interest to farmers and rural residents to help
participants prepare for their meetings with legislators.
Following lunch, attendees will head to the Capitol to meet with their local legislators.
There is no cost to participate, but pre-registration is required. To sign-up or for more information, call 608-720-9380.
