CWT Accepts Foremost Farms Export Assistance Bids
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 06/24/2008

Cooperatives Working Together announced that it accepted five export assistance bids last week for the sale of butter.

Two of the bids were from Foremost Farms of Baraboo, which included 1,370 metric tons of butter to Iran, and 38 metric tons of butter to Japan. The other three bids were from United Dairymen of Arizona of Tempe, Arizona.

CWT will pay an export bonus to the bidders, only when delivery of the product is verified by the submission of the required documentation.

With these accepted bids, CWT's total 2008 export obligations are: whole milk powder, 170 metric tons; butter, 2,029 metric tons; cheese, 209 metric tons; and anhydrous milkfat, 210 metric tons.

The CWT Export Assistance program, on a competitive bid basis, assists CWT members in selling U.S. dairy products in world markets.
