NASS Cheese Survey Prices Lower

Prices were mostly lower on the National Ag Statistics Service Weekly Cheddar Cheese Survey on Friday. The price of 40 pound blocks for Minnesota-Wisconsin averaged $2.15, down 11 cents from last week's price, while 500 pound barrels were six cents lower at $2.28. The price of U.S. 40-pound blocks were down six cents at $2.15 for the week ending June 14. The barrels were at $2.18, down a nickel.

Butter prices were a penny higher as the price for 25 kilogram and 68 pound boxes meeting USDA Grade AA standards averaged $1.47 per pound for the week.

Nonfat Dry Milk prices were three cents higher for the week at $1.36 per pound for USDA Extra Grade standards.

And for 'other states,' blocks were down a nickel at $2.15, and the barrels were at $2.27, which was also five cents lower compared to the previous week.
