Agronomy Field Day to Focus on Managing Nitrogen
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 07/17/2017

The University of Wisconsin-Extension will hold an agronomy field day on managing Nitrogen for maximum returns next month. The session will be held August 16 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Fly-By Acres LLC near Sheboygan Falls.

Organizers say the frequency of wet springs with the recent excessive rain means farmers are rethinking nitrogen applications to corn crops. This is particularly true on fine textured heavy soils found in eastern Wisconsin, where saturated soils can lead to significant N losses.

Speakers include Carrie Laboski, UW-Madison Soil Science Department, Mike Ballweg, Sheboygan County Agricultural Agent, and Amber Radatz, UW-Discovery Farms.

For more information or to register, call 920-459-5904. The field day will be held rain or shine.
