Amish Family Injured in Truck vs. Buggy Accident
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 07/18/2017

An Amish buggy was struck from behind by a pickup truck in southern Wisconsin over the weekend, injuring all seven people on board. According to the Lafayette County Sheriff's Department, the accident happened on Sunday afternoon near Darlington.

Authorities say the buggy was driven by Elam Stoltsfus, 37, of Argyle, who was traveling with his wife and their five small children when it was struck by a Chevrolet K1500 pickup. That vehicle was operated by 79-year-old Richard Larson of rural South Wayne.

The horse and buggy were pushed into a ditch and ejected all of its occupants.

All seven members of the Stoltsfus Family were taken to an area hospital. Larson was checked out at the scene by EMS, but declined transport.
