World Dairy Expo Releases Seminar Schedule

Attendees of this year's World Dairy Expo in Madison can learn more about dairy policy, research, finances and the future by attending some of the seminars on tap. Presented daily by industry leaders, the sessions will be held each day at the Alliant Energy Center.

Each seminar is approved for one continuing education credit for members of both the American Registry of Professional Animal Scientists and the American Association of State Veterinary Boards – RACE Program.

Some of the topics and speakers this year include Entering the Dairy Industry with Gary Sipiorski, Vita Plus; Large-Scale Robots on the Dairy Farm, Brian Houin, Homestead Dairy; Will the Farm Bill Hurt or Help? by Dr. Mark Stephenson, University of Wisconsin-Madison; Are You Raising the Right Number of Heifers? by Jason Karszes, Cornell University; and Improved Genomic Selection for Health and Other Traits by Dr. Paul VanRaden, Research Geneticist;

Meanwhile, there will be panel discussion to talk about how corporate restaurant and food retail sourcing policies are being developed and the implications to the farmer.

World Dairy Expo goes from October 2-6.
