Workshops Planned for Farms Considering Expansion
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 01/26/2021

The University of Wisconsin-Extension and the Department of Natural Resources are teaming up to hold a series of virtual workshops for livestock producers, key employees and their consultants who are looking to expand.

The programs are being held February 2-5 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Sessions are geared toward farms considering expanding to the size where they would need a Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit.

The first workshop will focus on permit considerations. DNR staff will discuss the application process, when a permit is needed, and a panel of county staff and private sector engineers will talk about money and time-saving changes that farmers should consider before starting the process.

Other sessions in the series are primarily for existing permit holders who are looking to grow their operations.

Pre-registration is $10 for one session or $20 for two or more before January 31. For more information, visit https://go.wisc.edu/p241p7
