Fleet Farm Distribution Center Gets WEDC Support
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 07/20/2017
The Wisconsin Economic Development Corp. is providing Mills Fleet Farm with a $1.5 million loan to support the company's expansion of its distribution center in Chippewa Falls. The project is expected to create 325 jobs.
"Our objective as a company is to grow, and we have a strong growth plan," said Hugh Leasum, executive vice president and COO for Mills Fleet Farm. "The Chippewa Falls distribution center is a step in this development. Modernizing our supply chain will
support the planned growth of future retail stores in Wisconsin and the Midwest."
The $64.8 million project at the Lake Wissota Business Park is expected to be complete early next year.
Meanwhile, the City of Chippewa Falls will contribute $10 million in tax increment financing, which includes a financing grant and infrastructure improvements.
The retailer was sold over a year ago to a global investment firm after the Mills family ran the hardware and farm supply chain since 1955.
