NASS Cheese Survey Prices Down on Friday

Prices were down for the second consecutive week on the National Ag Statistics Service's Weekly Cheddar Cheese Survey. The price of 40 pound blocks for Minnesota-Wisconsin averaged $2.08, down three cents from last week's price, while 500 pound barrels were a dime lower at $2.08. The price of U.S. 40-pound blocks were down seven cents at $1.99 for the week ending July 5. The barrels were at $1.98, down nearly 11 cents.

Butter prices were three cents higher as the price for 25 kilogram and 68 pound boxes meeting USDA Grade AA standards averaged $1.51 per pound for the week.

Nonfat Dry Milk prices were up four cents for the week at $1.40 per pound for USDA Extra Grade standards.

And for 'other states,' blocks were down eight cents at $1.98, and the barrels were at $2.06, which was 13 cents lower compared to the previous week.
