WAEC Seeking Operations Director

Board members of the Wisconsin Agricultural Education Center have began their search for a director of operations. The proposed facility, which is being planned in Manitowoc County, will serve as an educational resource for people who want to learn about the origins of their food. It will also include a discovery center that features hands-on learning opportunities, technology used to feed people around the world and an opportunity to tour Grotegut Farm, a progressive third-generation dairy farm focused on sustainability and best farming practices.

The new director will report to the board and will be responsible for day-to-day management and growth of the WAEC, as well as the achievement of its mission and financial objectives.

"We seek a dynamic individual with a passion for agriculture to help us move forward throughout our building phase and into our operational phase," said WAEC Board President Julie Maurer. "We are poised to make a difference in the public's understanding of the importance of agriculture to our state, and we are excited to find the right person to coordinate and lead our efforts."
