Arlington Dairy Research Facility Dedication Set for July 30
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 07/15/2008

The University of Wisconsin-Madison will dedicate its new $5.1 million, 500-cow dairy facility at the Arlington Agricultural Research Station later this month. A special ceremony will take place on July 30, which marks the completion of the second phase of the university's Integrated Dairy Facility initiative.

In the first phase, completed in 2004, new heifer research/housing facilities were constructed at the Marshfield Agricultural Research Station. The final phase, currently proposed for the 2009-2011 biennium, will involve improvements to dairy facilities on the Madison campus.

The program will include remarks by representatives from the university, state government and the dairy industry.

The event begins at 10 a.m. at the Arlington Agricultural Research Station, located 20 miles north of Madison on State Highway 51.
