NASS Cheese Survey Prices Down on Friday

Prices were down for the third consecutive week on the National Ag Statistics Service's Weekly Cheddar Cheese Survey on Friday. The price of 40 pound blocks for Minnesota-Wisconsin averaged $2.03, down five cents from last week's price, while 500 pound barrels were six cents at $2.02. The price of U.S. 40-pound blocks were down four cents at $1.95 for the week ending July 12. The barrels were at $1.93, down a nickel.

Butter prices were three cents higher as the price for 25 kilogram and 68 pound boxes meeting USDA Grade AA standards averaged $1.54 per pound for the week.

Nonfat Dry Milk prices were down fractionally for the week at $1.40 per pound for USDA Extra Grade standards.

And for 'other states,' blocks were down four cents at $1.94, and the barrels were at $2.02, which was five cents lower compared to the previous week.
