Eighty Cows Escape Injury in Dane Co. Barn Fire

Authorities are trying to figure out what caused a barn fire on Monday evening that was housing dozens of dairy cattle.

According to the Dane County Sheriff's Department, the blaze was reported just before 10:00 p.m. in the town of Medina.

Eighty head of cows were all saved from a barn fire, which destroyed all the contents of the building. No people were harmed in the fire.

Firefighters from Marshall, Deerfield, Waterloo, Cottage Grove, DeForest Area, Columbus, Maple Bluff, Town of Burke, Town of Bristol and Sun Prairie all responded to the call.

Investigators say the fire is not considered suspicious.
