Prices Up Again on NASS Weekly Cheese Survey

Dairy product prices were mostly higher again this week on the National Ag Statistics Service Weekly Cheddar Cheese Survey on Friday. The price of 40 pound blocks for Minnesota-Wisconsin averaged $1.58, up two cents from last week's price, while 500 pound barrels were five cents higher at $1.60. The price of U.S. 40-pound blocks were six cents higher at $1.50 for the week ending July 24. The barrels were at $1.51, which is about three cents higher than the previous week.

Butter prices were up three cents as the price for 25 kilogram and 68 pound boxes meeting USDA Grade AA standards averaged $1.77 per pound for the week.

Nonfat Dry Milk prices fell by five cents for the week at $1.19 per pound for USDA Extra Grade standards.

And for 'other states,' blocks were three six higher at $1.49, and the barrels were at $1.56, which is two cents higher from the previous week.
