Fire Damages Barn at ABS Global Property

A barn that was used to store over 500 bales of straw at ABS Global's Poynette farm has been destroyed by fire. Reports say the blaze was reported Tuesday evening at the facility, which is made up of eight other buildings and a farmhouse.
Fire crews from Arlington, Rio, Poynette and Wyocena first responded after a grass fire was reported near the property. Upon arrival, they removed the straw from the burning shed and disassembled the building in hopes of keeping the flames from reigning.
No injuries were reported, but several firefighters were treated for exhaustion.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
