Past State FFA Officers Are Major Contributors to Foundation Fund
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 07/30/2015

A program that designates the financial contributions of former state FFA officers from Wisconsin to be used for leadership programming is now entering its second year. Created last September by the Wisconsin FFA Foundation, the Leaders' Legacy fund helps former officers showcase their ongoing support of the organization through their monetary giving.

In its inaugural year, the campaign raised over $12,000--with those moneys going specifically for state officer training and scholarship purposes, as well as leadership conference for all FFA members, State FFA Honors Band and Chorus and chapter visits throughout the year.

"We developed the Leaders' Legacy fund to increase leadership opportunities to all FFA members, from state officers to chapter officers and those attending leadership conferences," said Former State FFA Foundation Board President Julie Larson, who is also a past state FFA officer. "I encourage all past state officers to remember their own experience, what it felt like and how it has shaped who they are today. I'm thankful for all the past state officers who already have contributed and for those who will, all to keep the legacy of Wisconsin FFA alive."

Each year, only 11 individuals serve the Wisconsin FFA as state officers. Larson says the activities supported by the new Leaders' Legacy fund have a special connection for past state officers, who were provided similar leadership and educational opportunities during their time in FFA.
