Manitowoc, Barron Counties Top State 4-H Dairy Judging Contest

The Manitowoc County 4-H dairy judging team will represent Wisconsin at World Dairy Expo this fall after taking top honors at the state 4-H dairy judging contest. The event was held last week in conjunction with the State Ayrshire and Guernsey show in Black River Falls.

Team members of the winning group included Crystal Peterman, Jordan Siemers, Tiffany Roberts and Sanne de Bruijn. The Dane County team was named runner-up, with Dodge County placing third.

The top individual judges of the competition were Kristin Broege, Rock County; Dawson Nickels, Dodge County; Emily Hellendrung, Barron County; and Jessica Pralle, Clark County.

In the Junior competition, Barron County won first place overall. Team members were Emily Pintens, Brooke Hammann, Justyne Frisle and Zach Moret. The Columbia County juniors placed second, with Crawford County taking third place.

Over 100 competed at the contest last week.
