Weekend 'State Fair Necessities' Events Called a Success
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 08/20/2020

Officials with Wisconsin State Fair Park announced that its State Fair Necessities fair food drive-thru events held during the past four weekends exceeded expectations.

Despite the 2020 Wisconsin State Fair being canceled due to COVID-19, fair food lovers were able to purchase iconic Original Cream Puffs, as well as many other favorites traditionally available at the annual state fair.

"We are so proud to have created State Fair Necessities to give our loyal fairgoers a little piece of what we are so proud to showcase at the State Fair each year," said WDFP CEO Kathleen O'Leary. "Our success is attributed to the staff's innovative thinking and ability to shift focus, as well as the thousands of people who created and shared with us on social media."

By the numbers, the fair office says 58,456 vehicles went through the drive-thru and curbside event. They consumed over 202,000 cream puffs, 16,000 Blue Ribbon Brownies, 10,000 slices of Dill Pickle Pizza and 18,000 Lemonades.
