UW-Extension Holding Farm Succession, Estate Planning Forums
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 01/03/2018

The University of Wisconsin-Extension offices in Dodge, Fond du Lac, Ozaukee and Washington Counties are teaming up to hold a series of workshops this winter on passing the family farm on to the next generation. The program, titled 'Cultivating Your Farm Business's Future,' will provide information on future-farm succession, retirement and estate planning.

Organizers say the three-part series consists of one-day and half-day meetings and will focus on some of the most important considerations as farm families plan for the future.

The first full-day meeting is slated for January 11, where presenters will discuss farm business succession.

On February 8, a half-day meeting will cover estate planning and important topics to be considered during the process.

The final half-day session takes place on February 15, where retirement planning and how it can be impacted by farm succession will be the focus.

Registration fees are changed for each meeting and available per person or per couple. Registration for each individual sessions are due one week prior to the workshop. Fee includes meals, speaker fees and a resource guide for each individual.
