Celebrating Soil at Field Day at Otter Creek
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 08/05/2015

Managing soil health, optimizing corn profitability, and growing quality forages are just a few of the topics that will be discussed at Midwestern BioAg's Field Day at Otter Creek, near Avoca, Wisconsin, next week. Free and open to the public, the event will feature demonstrations by industry experts that can help grow farm margins in challenging times.

The August 18 event will begin at 10:00 a.m. and end at 3:30 p.m. Now in its 24th year, Field Day at Otter Creek has attracted both local and international visitors interested in learning more about Midwestern BioAg's practices and products. Each year, nearly 1,000 people travel to Midwestern BioAg President Gary Zimmer's award-winning, 1,000-acre dairy and crop farm for the field day.

Soil health, the theme of this year's event, has been a driver of profitability at Otter Creek Farms for decades.

"A good soil structure and healthy microbial population can help boost yields and crop quality," says Zimmer. "We'll show you how balancing soil nutrients and pH levels can help grow margins on your farm, whether you grow row crops, forages, or livestock."

Founded in 1983, Midwestern BioAg is a premium fertilizer and agronomy consulting company with core facilities in Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, and Ohio, reaching farmers in 29 states and three Canadian provinces.
