Farm Tech Days Attendance Estimated at 60,000
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 08/01/2011
Better weather for Wisconsin's largest outdoor agricultural event this year meant better attendance numbers, as well.
The University of Wisconsin-Extension says around 60,000 visitors went through the gates at Seehafer Acres in Marathon County during the three-day show last month.
In recent years, the expo had partial cancellations due to heavy rains. But this year's show had ideal conditions and a centralized location for many people to enjoy the exhibits and participate in farm tours and field demonstrations.
The Extension service also said nearly $1,900 was raised from the first ever Farm Technology Days Benefit Auction, in which the proceeds will be used to help future counties hold the show and for college scholarships.
Farm Tech Days moves to Outagamie County next year, where Sugar Creek Farms and Heideman Farms near New London will serve as hosts on July 17-19, 2012.
