Heart of the Farm Conference in Baraboo Set for February 5

Farm women from Sauk County and the surrounding area are invited to participate in the Heart of the Farm-Women in Agriculture conference to be held on February 5 in Baraboo. The program provides the
opportunity to network with other farm women and get answers about calculating cost of production, organizing for tax time, labor law and employee management and farm succession planning.
Topics and presenters include:
** Calculating Your Cost of Production. Doug Marshall, Farm Management Instructor, MATC-Reedsburg.
** Organizing for Tax Time. Kari Apel, CPA, Apel Associates.
** Labor Laws and Employee Management. Todd Pfeil, Attorney, Pfeil, Millonzi & Curran, LLC.
** The Nuts & Bolts of Farm Transfer. Denise Brusveen, UW-Extension-Sauk County agriculture agent.
Heart of the Farm-Women in Agriculture conference series is a University of Wisconsin-Extension program that is committed to addressing the needs of farm women by providing education on farm business
topics, connecting them with agricultural resources and creating support networks.
The conference begins at 9:30 a.m. and ends at 3:15 p.m. Pre-registration is $15 per person. Registrations are due by January 29.
