UW-Extension Holding 'So You Want to Raise Beef?' Meeting

The University of Wisconsin-Extension office in Taylor County is hosting an on-farm meeting next week for anyone interested in adding beef to their dairy operation or switching to beef from dairy.

Being held on August 28 in Stetsonville, this workshop will provide useful information for those new to, or contemplating, raising beef. The 'So You Want to Raise Beef?' workshop will discuss marketing, breeding strategies, facilities, and nutrition for cow/calf herds and feeding/finishing dairy beef or dairy crossbred beef. Presenters include those from partnering agencies, UW-Extension, UW-Madison, Heartland Cooperative, and Stratford Equity Cooperative.

There will be a farm tour included with the day's activities.
